Are you going to postpone your wedding?

Answer

UPDATE (5/15/20) No, we are not postponing, we are still planning to hold the wedding ceremony on July 11th! However, out of an abundance of concern for the health and safety of our family as friends (as well as current restrictions), we have decided to take our wedding virtual! We will be able to have a few people with us on the day of the wedding, but not everyone we hoped and planned to have with us. We are coming up with plans to make sure everyone can be with us (in person or online) and participate. Please stay tuned! We will let you know here on the website if there are any more changes to the plans!

How will an online wedding work?

Answer

You will go to www.DarienChui.com/Courtney-Jibby-Stream to view the wedding ceremony of Courtney and Jibby! Please join us online at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 11th, 2020! This is the perfect way to be a part of our day without having to worry (and without even having to dress up! ha ha!)! We will miss having you there in person, but are comforted by the fact that you are with us from your home!

Will We Be Able to Chat With You While Viewing Online?

Answer

You should be able to post comments that we will be able to view later. At the end of the ceremony, we will have a mini-reception with you online and should be able to view comments made during that time. Think of it more like a live YouTube or Facebook stream, not a Zoom meeting.

I'm Coming to the Ceremony, What Safety Measures Will You Have in Place?

Answer

Individually wrapped masks and a personal bottle of hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry. If you do not already have a mask on, you will be asked to use the mask provided. We ask that you wear your mask for the entire time you are in the chapel. Ushers will direct you where to sit so that you can be the proper distance from others. We ask that if you are not feeling well or have a temperature above normal, that you please join us by viewing the ceremony online.

Do I Have to Wear a Mask the Whole Time?

Answer

Yes. At the ceremony, you will need to keep your mask on the entire time. It will need to be worn properly over your mouth and nose. If you have trouble breathing or keeping a mask on for 1-2 hours, we ask that you join us by viewing online.

I Really Don't Like Wearing a Mask, Do I Have To?

Answer

Yes. No one really likes wearing a mask, but we want everyone to be as safe as possible while still being together. If you want to practice wearing a mask, you can train yourself by wearing it for 20 minutes, and then adding 20 minutes each day. If you start practicing July 5th, you'll have plenty of time during the week to build up to wearing a mask for an extended amount of time.

What's This Mini-Reception for Online Guests?

Answer

After the ceremony, we ask that you stick around for a few minutes (while we'll be hurrying to get all those family pictures taken). We will meet up with yall after pictures to say hi, and have the fastest reception you've ever encountered! You will be able to use those few minutes of waiting to grab a drink to toast with and a snack (you know, like those butter mints or Jordan almonds). We will be there to read your comments, respond and share our thankfulness for you being in our lives!

Is the Governor's Order (July 2nd) Forcing You to Cancel the Wedding?

Answer

No. We are still holding the wedding ceremony in accordance with the Governor's Order. We were requiring and providing face masks anyway, but now you will need to make sure you are masked before you arrive so that you are following this new rule on your way. We will not be exercising the exemption from wearing masks for religious services, but we may use the exemption for those speaking in the wedding depending on their own preference.
