The first time we met was in a University of Houston parking lot. Courtney was just getting back from the recreation center and I was waiting on a line sister to come out of the dorms along with another line sister. He jumped into her new car and introduced himself to me in Courtney fashion. The next week I was sitting in those same dorms when he came over and sat down next to me, striking up the funniest conversation I'd ever had.

Courtney took me for a fishing trip at Texas City Dike and invited our friends and my family along (including Taz, the dog). We sat down by the water with our fishing poles when he turned to me and said, "You know all these people are gonna be at the wedding, right?" When I looked over at him, he got down on one knee and continued, "Will you fish with me forever?" Of course I said yes! After celebrating, I ran to the car to grab an item I brought along with me that day: the engagement ring I'd gotten for him!
