A cookie table will be part of our day of celebration. We are looking forward to bringing this Western Pennsylvania tradition with a twist to the Clearwater Wedding Celebration. There will be cookies contributed by the families of the bride and groom. The beginning of the Pittsburgh cookie table is often debated, but it is said it grew during the Great Depression amongst the many immigrant communities in the city as a way the women of the bride and groom to provide a cost savings alternative to the traditional wedding cake. The favorite family recipes were passed down for generations of Italian, Irish, Greek, and eastern European communities. Today the Pittsburgh cookie table is such a strong tradition the wedding day just wouldn’t be complete without it. People often ask first “How were the cookies”, before “How was the wedding”! There will be plenty to enjoy at the wedding, and enough to take some for later so come hungry.
Please RSVP by September 10th. Online RSVP is open.
