An account of how we met written by Courtney.

Those that know me, know that I am extremely competitive, and when I am challenged in a sport, I don't back down. 

While visiting friends in D.C. in August of 2014, there was friendly banter amongst the group at brunch. My athletic ability, specifically dodgeball skills was questioned since I didn't play in adult sports leagues. The notion that I was no longer a legit athlete circulated. Well, I went home Sunday and joined a dodgeball league on Wednesday.

A few days later, I received an email from a guy named Herman. 

"Hey Courtney. My name is Herman, our team captain for this year. Do you know anyone on our team?"

I didn't and in a twist of events, Herman asked if he could move me to another team since his team was full. Unbeknownst to me, I was kicked off of my future husband's dodgeball team. 

At the end of the season, Herman asked if I would consider joining his team again. I gladly said yes, and two weeks later we started dating!
