We met on a party bus going to the horse races in Oakland on February 25. 2018. Both of us were invited by friends, and at first neither were really inclined to go. For some reason, we both ended up deciding to go on the adventure. Originally, we each expected there to be a bus full of people. However, there ended up only being 5 people total, allowing for plenty of "get to know you talk" to happen on that first day. We haven't looked back since..

Evan proposed on 3/4/2020 on the beautiful island of Maui. We traveled there to celebrate the wedding of a friend from college and decided to add some adventure time in to our vacation. We both wanted to watch the sunset on top of Mt. Haleakala to see the breathtaking views from the top of the mountain. On that day, we drove to the top of the mountain all bundled up in our winter gear because the top of the mountain is freezing! As the sun was setting, Evan got down on one knee and asked Courtney to marry him, immediately bringing tears to her eyes. And of course she said "YES!!" Evan was even able to pull off an extra surprise for Courtney by inviting two very close friends to the top of the mountain to witness the proposal. We all were on cloud nine that evening!
