After being essentially strangers in French class in college (when Courtney had a crush on DJ but couldn't find the courage to talk to him), Courtney and DJ started their romantic journey after returning from their study abroad experiences in Paris, France and Amman, Jordan. One night during winter break, DJ was feeling himself while playing Xbox with his dear friend John "Vallone" Vallone and had an inkling to text his former French class classmate to see "how her study abroad experience went". To spare you all of the silly texting details, the two started hanging out almost instantly after returning to Providence College for the second semester of their Junior Year. Their first date was dinner at the Ladder followed by a classic scary movie back at the dorms. Since then, Courtney and DJ have been nearly inseparable, psychologically at least. Surviving a year of quarantining together and almost two years of long distance while DJ went back to school, the couple has been through a lot together! This relationship has been filled with countless memories made on Cape Cod, MA, Block Island, RI and other parts of the country including San Francisco, CA and Ann Arbor, MI. Courtney and DJ plan on spending the rest of their lives together and filling each and every moment with priceless memories. It was basically love at first text and to this day the couple can be found sending mushy gushy lovey dovey texts back and forth. They are so excited for the rest of forever together and can't wait to celebrate their love with family and friends!

DJ pulled off the most impressive surprise for this!! DJ and Courtney were visiting Courtney's parents on Block Island for the week of the Fourth of July. On the morning of the third, Courtney was really craving a cinnamon bun from Aldo's. DJ told her they could go at 12:30, and while she really didn't understand why they had to wait for such a specific time, they did. Post cinnamon bun, the two were driving back to the house when Courtney got a text from her sister, Natalie, saying that her and their cousin Camryn were hanging out at the Southeast Lighthouse and that DJ and Courtney should join them. Now, the lighthouse is not really a place to just "hang out," but Courtney went with it, and the two drove over. They walked up the path towards the lighthouse, and when they rounded the corner, both sets of parents, plus Natalie and Camryn popped out. Mrs. Telman was holding champagne, and at that moment, Courtney figured out what was going on. Natalie came over and gave the ring to DJ, who got down on one knee and said the famous words, "Will you marry me?" Courtney didn't have to think twice about the answer ;) The proposal video is full of giggles and tears and has been watched at least 100 times. Best. Surprise. Ever.
