We first met serving through our church in Atlanta and have zero recollection of meeting except a photo that proves it. Fast forward a few months... my roommate and I were hosting a New Years Day game night. Our friend Emily Johnstone came and invited him along. The next day was also a holiday and rainy, so guess who came back over. We became friends within a circle of church friends and for about 10 months he was over at my house at least twice a week. We kept our distance and never had any notable individual conversations. I actually hoped I would never be alone with him because I didn't know what to talk about. During those 10 months we developed a deepening respect for each other and served together and laughed a lot. One day I was sitting at East Pole (coffee shop) before church and Davis walked in. I waved and he sat down and we talked. It was really easy and fun, and I remembered thinking that we could be actual friends. That month I developed a crush and was annoyed about it. I agreed to dress up as him for Halloween with his jacket and a pigeon head. But then the day after Halloween, as he was leaving my house, he told me he had been thinking the same things and asked me on a date to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. We dated for a year and first deepened our friendship, then fell in love, then got engaged and started dreaming about our future life together. Davis proposed on a sunrise hike at Preacher's Rock (complete with 30 middle schoolers who were not part of the plan). We're so ready and excited to marry each other!
