Question

When should we book our hotel accommodations?

Answer

NOW! Our wedding is in the heart of the busy season. We recommend booking from our hotel block at the Villa Roma (block discount code is under the Hotel tab). AirBNB will be the next best resource. Which airport should we fly into?

Answer

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is 2.5 hrs from Handsome Hollow whereas Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP) is 1.5 hrs from Handsome Hollow. Newark will be more cost effective and closer to the city if you plan to hang in NYC

Could we fly into JFK or LaGuardia?

Answer

You could, but note traffic will be heavy going through the city and you might run into unnecessary tolls. Either are about an hour longer of a drive than Newark. If you want a few days in NYC after the wedding, my advice would be to book a one way flight to Newark or Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport. Going home, book a flight out of JFK. There is easy transportation from the city to JFK. Drop off your rental car before you get to NYC and bam!! Vacation set!

Is there a dress code?

Semi-Formal. Please avoid black if possible to go with our outdoor summer wedding

What are the grounds like at the venue?

Answer

Dancing and bars for the reception will be set up inside the barn or on the patio. The ceremony will be outdoors so please plan accordingly as the grounds are a mixture of grass fields and walking paths. There is a fire pit as well that people will be walking back and forth to at night. For ladies in heels, I recommend purchasing “The Soul Mates” heel protectors as they will prevent your heels from sinking into grass/dirt.

How many cars are allowed at the venue?

Answer

Only 40 cars are allotted at the venue. Please carpool if possible

What is the weather typically like in July?

Answer

Warm during the day but it can get very cool once the sun sets in the Catskills. Plan to bring a light jacket/shawl just in case it gets chilly

Can we bring the kids?

Answer

We love your kids but thought you might like a night off. Adults only please!

Will there be a drop off/pick up accommodation locally to and from the venue?

Answer

Yes! There will be an open bar, and we want our guests to have a great time without worrying about driving at the end of the night. For now, we have established the first pick up/drop off location to be set at Villa Roma for our guests who take advantage of the wedding block. More pick up/drop off locations and timing to follow.
