We both were on Facebook dating but not really paying it much attention. One December afternoon after not looking at it for months, Courtney decided to give it a peek. Low & behold my race car had just whizzed by Craig's feed & he had just sent a message! The rest of the relationship quickly took off & it was life in the fast lane after that. We were constantly reminded by all the small things that it was just "Meant to be". Everything just always seemed to fall into place naturally.
On the day of our "engagement" we had been shoe shopping (those that know Courtney know this is no shocker!) It happened to be the one day a week Craig's neighbor, Albert, was working at Nordstrom. He insisted we go to the jewelry store next door & meet his friend. We figured "OK, we will go. Get a card. Then go home". We had been looking at rings but just couldn't decide on one. That day, we found not 1 but 3 rings we LOVED! Of course, because things are "Meant to be", they were Courtney's size and on clearance because they could not be sized! We took it as a sign & walked home full on new goodies. Craig's plan was to ask Piper (Courtney's daughter) first though. So away the rings went until he could get her a sparkly gift of her own the next day. We decided on 2 sapphire bands. Once we announced our engagement, we found out the first piece of jewelry Craig's dad, Glenn, gave his mom was a sapphire ring that she wore all the time. It is also a symbol of everlasting love. Like everything else, this choice was just "Meant to be".
