Chase and I met through my brother David Charlton. Chase was actually my brother's random roommate during college at the University of South Alabama. They lived together for only one year and it was during this same year that I went to visit David for the weekend, before a family vacation. Chase and I instantly had a connection, but when we met I was currently living back home in Northeast, Alabama where I was attending community college. Yes, if you calculated that correctly, that averages to about six hours of distance between us. We decided we wanted to make it work, so we officially started our long distance relationship after a trip to Nashville, Tennessee on October 7, 2013. Two years later I moved to Auburn, Alabama to finish school, which shortened the distance between us to three hours. After graduating with my Master's degree in 2019, I moved to Mobile, Alabama where we were finally in the same place. We spent six years in a long distance relationship. It was not easy, but we made it work. On April 29, 2023 Chase asked me to marry him.... back in the same city where our love story somewhat started and where I finally said "Yes, it's about time!"
