Let's get hitched

Chas and Courtney met each other on December 31st 2023, both attending a NYE party at the Waters Edge Winery Event Center. Chas nearly decided to watch the ball drop at home, where Courtney was dragged lovingly out of the house by her family. When Chas noticed her across the room, he describes it as "seeing every kind of grade school and celebrity crush in the same girl". So he did the unspeakable... he selfishly asked God "If you really want me to talk to her, have her move closer to me", to which Courtney unknowingly moved across the room throughout the entire night, until about 30 minutes before the ball drop, where she ended up to his side, behind him, and eventually a few feet directly in front of him. So he worked up the nerve to finally get her a drink and introduce himself. Over a blasting wall of classic rock music, he screamed "WHAT'S YOUR NAME?". She responded, "Courtney!!". "Nice to meet you Courtney!!" he replied. And just when her eyes locked onto his, he recalled a feeling of Heaven, as though he had found his missing puzzle piece in life and everything in that moment just perfectly clicked. From that moment on, everything changed. A few days later, he reached out to her through a DM after doing his research on her... when he found out his mom liked one of the photos she was tagged in on Facebook. The more he dug, the more he realized his mom knew her somehow. The next day, he recalled the same story to his mom while getting sushi and asked her if she knew someone named Courtney who was around his age. After a few moments, someone came to mind and she asked, "does her last name start with an 'M'?" -- "Yes". "Manly?!" She said, to which her entire face lit up and exclaimed, "I work with her mom!" And she was right -- Chas's mom and Courtney's mom work with each other at the same doctor's office in Broken Arrow since 2016, where they continue to work together to this day. We both like to think our parents were praying for us to find each other. Our first date, we went to get coffee and hot chocolate at Laurannae Baking Co. in Broken Arrow, to some slightly clunky conversation and yet a very strong connection. That connection cut through the wall they both had up for one another, and caused Chas to ask her right there "Do you wanna go to the movies? Right now?", and for her it was a near automatic "Yes!", even when both of them knew why it was right. Little did they know they would hold hands on the first date watching the movie-musical "Wonka" in the theaters. The best part? Chas was nervous to hold her hand and really wanted to, and Courtney had her palm open for most of the movie waiting for him to make the first move. When both of them realized their hands touched, time stopped and seemingly until the very end credits when the lights came on, both of them realized what they had was something more than a cute fling or one-off date... this was different for both of them. Not more than a few days later, they went on their second date to see the musical remake of "Mean Girls" and grab dinner at Russo's just across the street. Again, the conversation was murky but the connection was strong. This was the moment Chas realized something had to change -- from that moment on, he had completely let his guard down to trust God with something even he couldn't understand, and in that same moment he felt Courtney's guard drop completely, as if both of them found each other's safe space in one another. Their connection flourished even more so, to the point where they eventually found themselves dancing in Chas's living room to the tune of "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" playing on the turntable -- that was where they shared their first kiss, and the rest is history. Chas and Courtney continue to build a life centered around their faith in Jesus, making him the cornerstone and foundation of their relationship together, and creating a family that glorifies Him in everything they do.
