Question

(RSVP) When and where should I RSVP?

Answer

RSVP Deadline is September 14, 2025. Please RSVP on this website under the "RSVP" tab. Search for your name in the search box and then fill out the information for you and your family.

Question

(RSVP) Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! Please bring your children as they are welcome at both the ceremony and reception. The venue is very kid-friendly with a waterpark, arcade, and other activities for them.

Question

(RSVP) I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please indicate it when you RSVP and choose your food option. Only food allergies indicated on the RSVP will be communicated with the venue, so please fill it out.

Question

(RSVP) Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invite specified you have a +1, then yes! If a +1 is not indicated, then no. If you believe there has been an oversight, please contact the bride/groom.

Question

(RSVP) Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

For the bridal party and their immediate family, the rehearsal dinner is on Friday, October 3 at 6pm. Separate invitations will be sent out to those individuals.

Question

(ACCOMODATIONS) Have you reserved a block of rooms?

Answer

No, there is no block of rooms. Rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis. October is considered off season for this resort, and we are the only event on the weekend of October 4 (so far!). There are many hotels in the immediate area if you would prefer to not stay at Blue Harbor Resort.

Question

(ACCOMODATIONS) Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes the Blue Harbor Resort has plenty of parking. All events are held at Blue Harbor, so once you've parked, everything should be in walking distance.

Question

(ATTIRE) Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire/Beach Formal (No jeans please)

Question

(CEREMONY) What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the ceremony between 2:30pm - 3:15pm. The ceremony will start promptly at 3:30pm. If you arrive after 3:15 pm, you will not be able to attend the ceremony, however you will be welcome to attend the reception to follow.

Question

(CEREMONY) Am I allowed to take photos and/or videos of the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you keep our wedding "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos at our wedding. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day. Please take as many photos/videos at the reception as you want!

Question

(CEREMONY) What Happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After we say "I Do", guests will be invited to walk over to the reception area for light hors d’ oeuvres and drinks. The bridal party and immediate family will take wedding photos during that time. We will be seated for dinner at 6:30 pm.

Question

(CEREMONY/RECEPTION) Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! The wedding ceremony will be on the beach of Lake Michigan at the Grand Staircase. The reception will have a seated dinner indoors in Salon EFG with dancing on the Lakeside Terrace and outdoor seating. If the weather is rainy, the ceremony and reception will be indoors.

Question

(RECEPTION) Can I bring my own food/alcohol?

Answer

No. Outside food and drinks are not allowed at the ceremony and reception. If someone is caught bringing in outside food/alcohol to the reception, the venue reserves the right to shut the wedding down and kick us out. All outside food/alcohol/drinks must be kept in your room and consumed there.

Question

(REGISTRY) Where are you registered?

Answer

We're registered right here on the website! Please click the "Registry" tab to find it. We always welcome cards at the wedding if you prefer to gift in person. Our registry is strictly cash since we already have everything we need for the house! Do not feel like you need to give a gift or money, your presence is the best gift you could give.

Question

(TRAVEL) What is the best airport to use?

Answer

Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) is the closest large airport to the wedding venue.

Question

(REGISTRY) We found a gift we want to give you. Where should we send it?

Answer

If you would prefer to send a gift to us, please send it to our home address: 1568 W Ave. Dysart, IA 52224

Question

(CONTACT INFO) What's the best way to contact you if I have additional questions?

Answer

You may contact either the bride (309-945-5236) or the groom (319-529-7224) with any additional questions. Please make sure you've read the entire FAQ before sending us messages as we will be extremely busy!

Question

(ALCOHOL) Will there be alcohol?

Answer

We will be providing an open bar for our guest at the wedding reception with some guidelines. Due to the venue’s policies, shots will not be allowed during the reception. Outside beverages of any kind are prohibited by the venue. Furthermore, children will also be present at the reception and we expect everyone to act accordingly. Failure to follow these guidelines and/or excessive consumption will result in the patron being no longer welcome at the wedding and asked leave the venue.
