Is there a dress code?

Answer

Let’s Get Fancy! Our event is semi-formal/formal, so break out your sharp suit, classy dress pants/nice top combo, or that favorite dress you love. Please no white or cream and no casual wear. We can’t wait to celebrate together!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We kindly ask that only those listed on the invitation attend the wedding events. While the celebration is adults-only, children are welcome to enjoy the resort’s amenities with supervision by a caregiver you bring with you! The RSVP online will show you the invited guests.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Please Stay At Sugar Lake Lodge! Otherwise, see the Travel tab above for more details :)

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

No need to travel between venues—both the ceremony and reception are at Sugar Lake Lodge! Feel free to park overnight if needed. If you are not staying on-sight you are still able to park overnight at the resort if needed.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend staying at Sugar Lake Lodge for ease and proximity to the festivities. If you're lodging elsewhere, please plan your own transportation to and from your hotel.

What are the bridal party colors

Answer

Our bridal party will be dressed in rich autumn tones of auburn orange, espresso brown, and navy blue!

Are Pets Allowed?

Answer

Pets are unfortunately not allowed at the resort. So please find other accommodations for them for the weekend stay.

Question

Can I take pictures or record during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning that once the ceremony begins, we ask that all phones be silenced and put away, including cameras and flash photography. We want everyone to be present with us and for our photographer to be able to capture the best moments, which we absolutely look forward to sharing with you!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors

Answer

The ceremony is planned to be outdoors, and the reception will be held indoors. There are also outdoor areas at the reception that will be open for people to hang out and sit with access to bonfires! The outdoor area is just outside the reception, which you are welcome to walk in and out of (when appropriate)!

Is the cocktail hour/reception open bar?

Answer

We are hosting an open bar to kick off the celebration! Multiple beer and wine options will be available along with the couples signature drinks! Other drink options are available to purchase. Once our pre-set limit is reached, the bar will transition to a cash bar only, so please plan accordingly.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request

Answer

Yes, please let us know your dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

Question

Does Sugar Lake Offer Breakfast and Lunch Options For Saturday?

Answer

Sugar Lake MAY have a breakfast buffet option for guests Saturday morning. Guests will need to pay for their entry to breakfast, and will need to indicate when RSVP'ing if they are interested in this as an option. Lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday will need to be taken care of by the guests. Most units at sugar lake have a fully functional kitchen, making for an easy lunch or breakfast option. Otherwise in the things to do page there is a list of recommended restaurants in grand rapids for lunch before the wedding!
