How We Met

Couldn't Be Bothered.

Winter Break 2012: I'm at the Greenville, SC airport getting ready to go home for break. As it's time to board the plane, someone behind me starts talking to me. For anyone who knows me, I don't want to talk to 'strangers'. I just want to board the plane and get home. The (cute) guy just kept going on and on about how small the plane was, etc. I brushed it off and got to my seat. Landed in Newark and there he was at baggage claim talking to my dad. My dad asked me if I knew him and I said I had no idea who he was! Fast forward a few weeks and we are back in Clemson. Lizzie ( my MOH) was dying to go to a fraternity party. I wasn't sure I wanted to go, but I went with her since she really wanted to see her crush. Fate would have it that Alex was there behind the bar. Yes, I thought 'omg wait that's the guy from my plane and yes, he is cute'. Alex will say I tried to leave again without getting his number (which is true) but the universe has a funny way of working. Alex is the most kind hearted loving person and I definitely tested his patience in the beginning but he stuck through! Here we are over seven years later and I can't wait to marry my best friend. -Courtney

How We Met

Love at First Flight.

One fateful evening in 2012, I happened to be boarding a plane back home from Clemson, SC (go tigers). People I am close to know that I hate flying, and also that I’m not shy talking to anyone off of the street, so imagine my luck when I saw a beautiful girl waiting for the same plane. I could tell she wanted nothing to do with me but I continued to try to make an impression, and even hung out with Mr. T before I knew who he was. I believe he now regrets those events. I didn’t see this beautiful girl for a month or so until she unknowingly came to one of my fraternity parties. I recognized who she was because even in those few short minutes at the airport, she left a lasting impression. As she says in the post above me, yes she absolutely tried to ditch me once again but I “jogged” out after her to get her number which was far from the beginning of our relationship. I give much credit to Lizzie-Courtney’s MOH-who helped coerce my future wife into giving me a chance. Courtney is one of the most caring and loving people you will ever meet, but it takes a little to crack her shell as many of you know. It took some time but I knew that this now incredible woman was the one I was meant to be with, and I never stopped going after her. We say it has been a roller coaster love affair, but I have never stopped believing she is who I am meant to be with. She is my rock, the person who I love most in this world, and I cannot wait to say our vows together in just a short amount of time. -Alex
