We're getting married!

I always told Chase I wanted the proposal to be a surprise, but I had a feeling I was going to figure out his plan. To my surprise, I didn’t and was totally caught off guard when he popped the question in June 2021. Apparently, Chase had bought a ring and kept it hidden from me for months, and brought it with on a trip to Napa Valley. On the first day of our trip, all our luggage was stolen. Chase, being the most responsible person I know, carried the ring with him and it was safe in his backpack. After outfitting ourselves head to toe in Target, we started off on some winery tours. Inglenook Winery was by far my favorite, and after a tasting there, Chase stopped us in front of a fountain to pose for a photo. While smiling he looked at me and squeezed my shoulder saying “Courtney…” and after that, I started crying and remember nothing else other than nodding YES! I was so shocked and completely overwhelmed with emotion. After feeling so devastated from our stolen luggage and the inconvenience that caused, I realized that thieves could steal all the material things they wanted, but they were never going to steal the love I have for Chase.
