when kyle met courtney

The stage is set - Pandemic 2020. Who knew something great could come out of it? Kyle is from Long Island, Courtney lives in Greenpoint. April 2020, Kyle made his move by commenting "brb rising to heaven" on Courtney's Hinge profile picture. She thought his comment was funny, so she messaged him back. Courtney wasn't fully paying attention to his messages as she was being furloughed at the time (a lot going on)! Then one day, after texting back and forth a bit, she thought "this guy is funny", and they agreed on a date to meet in person. It was May 16, 2020, and they walked around her neighborhood with to-go drinks and spent the entire day together. It ended on a great note with Courtney busting her butt falling off Kyle's skateboard lol. Obviously she fell *so* gracefully, and he was so sweet to videotape it. They've spent pretty much every weekend together since!

Kyle had done extensive planning, really trying to surprise Courtney and instigated help from her friends to throw her off every scent. Kyle and Courtney talked often about marriage, timeline, ring shopping, etc, so she knew a proposal was coming. She just didn't know when or how! Plus, every time Kyle tried to throw her off, Courtney would end up crying, so a good sign she was ready for him to propose. :) Kyle re-created their first date. The day of, Courtney had nervous energy, and Kyle coming over and saying "ok, let's pick out your outfit for today" wasn't subtle at all!! They re-traced their steps, and throughout the walk, he almost gave it away a few times because he kept tearing up, which made Courtney tear up... She kept thinking, well he could be proposing today, or I could absolutely be overthinking this random Saturday. They walked back to her apartment, and Kyle said "alright let's grab some water and then head up to the roof". It's November and cold... but she said ok and didn't question it. They climbed the stairs, Courtney in front, and opened the door to the roof, and she saw rose petals all over the ground, a small table with champagne flutes, champagne, and a photo their friend Felicia took of them on their first date printed out. They both were sobbing! Sweet things were said, Kyle went down on one knee and asked! Then surprised Courtney with a pre-fix dinner at a local restaurant with their closest friends. It was PERFECT!!
