10 years of best friendship, 8 years of dating, and 2 years of engagement. Its hard to believe that it all started because Matthew wouldn't stop asking questions in 9th grade science and history class. Star crossed lovers may be a bit strong, but life sure did throw some curveballs that made being together a wild ride. We made it through almost 4 years of long distance with some help from cheap plane tickets and Skype. However, enough was enough on July 2nd of 2016 when they decided to continue their relationship together in Michigan. The tiny apartments near the park in Rochester were more than they could have asked for at the time. Now they await the adventure of marriage in Macomb with their small cat family.

Years before the engagement Courteney and Matthew took a trip to Anna Maria Island, a tiny stretch of beach at the southern mouth of Tampa Bay. The trip was so relaxing and memorable that it had to be the sight to pop the question. As with many things, Matt did not have any exact plans for the proposal. He had the ring, the girl, and the perfect spot. Sam, the ultimate best friend, was the impromptu photographer who waited patiently for some sort of sign when Matthew was going to ask. In the end the proposal went off without a hitch, unless you count the sunscreen in Sam’s eye from crying. There is even a video to prove it.
