Kaeli and Courtney met freshman year at KU while both living in Douthart Scholarship Hall. We quickly became besties and then were roommates for 3 years before Kaeli moved home to Denver. Even though we live in different states/time zones, we still get together a few times every year to do everything from road trips to our favorite hot springs, getting stuck on scenic trains with failing brakes, and binging good tv shows (usually in Colorado because duh)!

Nicole and Courtney went to high school together at Topeka High and became good friends senior year and then incredibly were randomly assigned to be roommates at Douthart Scholarship Hall freshman year of college at KU. I can always count on Nicole to be down for whatever weird adventure I've planned, even if it's driving 8 hours round-trip out to western Kansas to see a national park site.
Edward Halter

Ed and Jack met about 10 years ago when Ed started dating Jack's sister, Nikki. Between our mutual love of sports, whiskey, gaming, and antagonizing Nikki, we've been able to become friends over the years.
Cassandra Jager

Cassandra and Courtney met as freshman biology lab partners in high school and were in many classes together due to our mutual desire to be doctors (LOL). We became even better friends throughout college, having many study dates and scary movie nights. I've really come to rely on Cassandra's plant guru-ness to help me keep dozens of plants alive!
Jordan Gray

Jordan and Courtney met freshman year at KU while living at Douthart Scholarship hall. We were roommates for a year after moving out of Douthart and got into many shenanigans during that time. Jordan always knows how to make me laugh and has always been the biggest hypewoman, whether it's relationships, job things, or just exciting life events!
Nick Garrett

Nick and Courtney met on a cold February day in 1997 and he's been a part of my life ever since. As expected, Nick and Jack became friends after being introduced in 2018 and now team up to make fun of Courtney at every family function. It's a great time.
Nicole Parker

Nicole and Courtney met while working at the Lawrence Health Department. We became friends once it was clear how weird we both were, I definitely missed Nicole's random dancing throughout the day at the jobs I've had since! Whether it's super early morning summer walks with her energetic dog, sending each other the most unflattering pictures of ourselves, or catching up on workplace drama Nicole always brightens my day!
Nikki Halter

Nikki and Jack are siblings and friends who have always made good partners in crime! It's been nice living in the same city as adults so we can hang out and struggle to think of restaurant options, go to Royals games, or go with the Halter family to the zoo. Nikki and Courtney met in 2018 shortly after I started dating Jack and I instantly liked hanging out with her. She is one of the goofiest and fun people I know and the sister I’ve always wanted!
Tilley Marlo

Tilley and Courtney met while working at KU Catering, many years later we also lived together for a year when I moved to KC. From working catering events together, to purposefully requesting songs I hate at bars, and our scary sunday movie dates, Tilley always knows how to make me smile. She is also an event hosting madwoman and I always really look forward to her parties!
Wendy Hodges

Wendy and Courtney met while working at the Lawrence Health Department. One of our favorite things to do when we hang out is watch Ghost Adventures, regardless of the time of year. We also have a yearly tradition of going on different haunted tours every October and pretending to be ZB (iykyk). Wendy is one of the most hospitable people I know and is a fabulous baker, which makes our GA watch parties all the better!
Zak Grant

Zak and Courtney met while living at Sunflower House Co-op, which was an interesting time in both of our lives. We also realized we were both microbiology majors and had a lot of things to commiserate about. Some of my favorite hangouts with Zak have just involved running errands or getting coffee and chatting, although it's always nice when he's canning salsa or making sweet treats and I can sneak away with samples ;) Jack and Zak share a (super) nerdy sense of humor, so it's always a funny time when all of us hang out. For some reason Courtney constantly mixes up the names Jack and Zak when talking about/to each other, so please cross your fingers for me during the ceremony!! We couldn't think of anyone we would want to have the honor of saying they married us more than Zak!
