Flamenco Beach

Voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Flamenco beach on the island of Culebra is where Eddie and Courtney got engaged! It is a must visit spot! Culebra is easily accessed via a 45 min ferrry ride (or prop plane if you're feeling adventerous!) and has an abundant number of taxis ready to take you to Flamenco Beach. There are a number of small concesion stands with food and equipment rentals. For guests staying for a bit after the wedding, we are planning a fun beach trip! We plan to depart on the 11am ferry, spend the day on Flamenco enjoying ourselves, and then return on the 5pm ferry. You can purchase your tickets online (has a convenience fee) or you can arrive early and purchase tickets at the gate.

El Yunque National Forest

Rio Grande, Puerto Rico

Filled with beautiful flora and fauna, this lush expanse is the only tropical forest in the U.S. National Forest System. Hike up to the top of the mountain or go swimming in one of the many waterfalls- you can't go wrong with this adventure-filled spot! You may want to bring a rain jacket...it is a RAINforest afterall! Eddie and Courtney got absolutely dumped on their last trip here!

Cavernas de Camuy

When you arrive at the park you'll take a tram ride down to a 180-foot high cave full of stalactites and stalagmies and one of the largest subterranean river The walk is generally manageable but it can be difficult in some parts and sometimes wet and muddy.

Cueva Ventana or Cave Window is a fascinating cave carved by nature on top of a limestone cliff overlooking the Arecibo valley. Cueva Ventana Tours provies knowledgable guides and biologists who offer insteresting information on cave inhabitants such as insects, bats, and snakes.

Carabalí Rainforest Park

This is a 600-acre ranch snuggled between El Yunque National Rainforest and the Atlantic Ocean. You can go horseback riding though El Yunque, go swimming in the Mameyes River, or take your horse to the beach. You can zoom through the forest, hop over creeks, and climb hills on a four track or hit the jungle trails on a mountain bike.

Viejo San Juan

This is a classic spot for Friday or Saturday nights. On the famous Calle San Sebastian you can find great bars like La Taberna Lupulo, a bar with a large selection of local craft beers, and the renowned bar, La Factoria, where you will encounter live salsa music and local DJ's. This bar was featred as one of the World's Top 50 bars by Forbes and is the setting for Luis Fonsi's "Despacito"! You can also venture to Calle Tanca for music and drinks or go to one of the many rooftop bar in the area. Barachina is the birthplace of the world famous pina colada, where the drink was first made in 1963. For beer lovers, La Taberna Lupulo is a great pit stop for a few cold ones with 50 beers on tab and 150 bottles! You could also check out El Tap in the Ocean Park neighborhood! For an awesome cocktail bar in Old San Juan, check ut the Mezzanine located on Calle Sol.

Entering the gates of Castillo San Felipe del Morro is like walking 5 centuries into the past and getting immersed in the intriguing history. El Morro became the most successful defensive position in the New World. It was never defeated by sea, and it only fell once when taken by land in 1598. El Morro is definitely an attraction in Old San Juan that you need to check out! There is also a huge field in front of the fort where it is quite common to see children and families flying kites!

La Placita de Santurce

Santure's famous market is the best place to get a sense for the local nightlife (it is especially good on Friday nights). You can find varous restaurants (Santaella is a crowd favorite) and small kiosk type spots that offer drinks with fresh squeezed juices and delicious fried food. Find El Coco de Luis right outside the market for the chicharrones de pollo and De La Vida for the best crowd.

Looking for a LIT adventure? There are only five ecosystems in the world where the concentration of these plankton is high enough to be considered bioluminescent bays, and Puerto Rico is home to three of them. It's definitely a great experience.
