The way Courtney tells it, she had an early report to the airport on a humid August morning. She was darting through the crowds at SeaTac when a blonde flight attendant with a slicked back bun and a pair of little kitten heels cut her off mid-stride at an escalator. When Courtney boarded the aircraft, that same blonde came sauntering up the aisle with a big, goofy smile and the brightest blue eyes she had ever seen. Court immediately clocked the rainbow background on the flight attendant’s apple watch and introduced herself. If you were to ask Ariana, she’d say she rocked up to work one day and a brunette with a red lip came on board with a little bit of an attitude. She knew that was her wife. By the time that flight had finished boarding, Court had butterflies and Ari was planning their future from the jumpseat. That first trip together was nothing short of chaotic, dealing with aggressive passengers, ridiculous crew members, and the summer heat. Court and Ari were giddy in each others’ presence and kept laughing through it all. Once back in Seattle, the pair hopped on the train together to head to their respective homes, unwilling to say goodbye just yet. Ariana missed her stop that day.
