You know, it’s funny how life works sometimes. We went to the same school, but we never talked. We must have passed each other a hundred times in the halls. For the next couple of years, we ended up working at the same company. You’d think that would have sparked something, but nope. We worked in the same place, day in and day out, and still, we never spoke. It’s almost comical when we think about it now. It wasn’t until after I quit that things took a surprising turn. Out of the blue, Cameron reached out, with a happy birthday message and a few months later a message asking to meet up. From that first message, everything just clicked. We started talking, sharing stories, and laughing together. It felt so natural like we’d known each other forever. All those years of almost crossing paths suddenly made sense. It was like God had been waiting for the right moment for us to finally meet properly.
Our proposal story is one for the books, filled with a touch of surprise and a lot of love. It happened during a work party trip, and little did I know, he had something much bigger planned. The trip was to Wilmington NC which happened to be a famous spot from one of my favorite TV shows, One Tree Hill. After completing a tour of the USS NC battleship, we headed to the famous River Court which used to be a basketball court in the show and is now a beautiful park looking over the river. While admiring the view, Cameron asked me if I still wanted to marry him, to which I said of course, when the day was right, little did I know that day would approach sooner rather than later, he then proceeded to ask me to marry him, and of course, I said yes!
