The love story began May of 2010. While in town visiting her family for the weekend, Nicole stopped by Shades Mountain Christian School to pick up her sister Victoria from soccer practice. James saw Nicole, and to this day can remember exactly what she was wearing (black shorts with a blue shirt, if you were curious). James' former history teacher saw James eyeing Nicole and asked if James wanted her number. James quickly replied- of course! That weekend was filled with dates- James took Nicole to dinner and a movie, came over to dinner with Nicole’s family, and even took Nicole out to meet his band at the time. A week later Nicole asked James to be her prom date in New York. James accepted! Being on other sides of the country, Nicole and James took a 6 year hiatus where they only exchanged the occasional Facebook message every couple of years. Fast forward to December 29, 2015. James invited Nicole to Perdido Key for New Years. Nicole drove down from Atlanta to reconnect with James. .... and here we are!

In December 2018, Nicole and James took a vacation to Breckenridge, Colorado to go skiing. The vacation was nothing short of a Hallmark movie. When they finished skiing for the day, James took Nicole to take photos of the mountains (or so Nicole thought..). James drove them to the Boreas Pass, and parked on a beautiful scenic overlook. Nicole starting taking pictures of the snow covered mountains. She snapped a few of James, and he took a few of her. The next thing she knew, James was down on one knee. That was all it took for the ugly, but happy tears to start flowing. She said yes!! We are so blessed to be spending the rest of our lives together! We can't wait to see you in Birmingham!
