Nope, not really. Kyle and I got eloped on April 27th in Tiburon, CA. We picked Cabo because we wanted to celebrate with friends and family in a relaxed, fun environment. There won’t be a reception or any real agenda for the boat – we just want to have a good time.
April 1st
The area the boat and welcome reception will be at are in Cabo San Lucas. This is about 45 minutes from the airport. Sorry, not ideal, and I get that.
We did not do a hotel block. Us and our families are staying in various Airbnb’s/VRBOs in Pedregal. Pedregal is a gated neighborhood about 12 minutes from the boat and restaurant. I would recommend looking for a place there or if you prefer the hotel route, looking for a hotel in Cabo San Lucas. If you’d like help finding a villa or hotel, feel free to contact Jen at jen@suncabo.com. I went through her and saved a bunch of money avoiding VRBO/Airbnb fees.
We don't recommend that kids be present on the boat. Hopefully we can give you a kid-free vacation.
Friday should be elevated sundresses, or colorful short-to-med length dresses for girls. The restaruant is within a resort. Patterned button down shirts and nice shorts for guys. Saturday should be more formal than Friday, think beach cocktail (you can type "beach formal attire" into pinterest). Heels are fine on the boat. Slacks or linen pants and button up shirts for guys. Guys will not need to bring a jacket if you don't want to. You can find ideas for Satruday here: https://pin.it/4aJ1Va4Rv
The vendor that I booked the boat with gave exact instructions on where to meet. I’ve included this information on the “Schedule” page. Have your driver drop you off at Breathless Cabo San Lucas Resort & Spa. You'll then have to walk 3-5 minutes to the dock - "La Terminal De Cabo". Please don’t be late or we will leave without you. 😊
If you haven't heard of it, look it up. Mexico does not have a good water system, which can result in people getting really sick and it can keep you bedridden for days. Be aware and come prepared: don't drink ANY water unless it's bottled. Brush your teeth with bottled water. Bring charcoal pills, probiotics, and vitamins and take them daily. Some people avoid ordering drinks with ice in them, but I've never gone that far and I've been fine.
Don’t forget to check when your passport expires. And bring your electrolytes.
The other dog is Zara. I pulled a classic college girl move and “rescued” her when my landlord didn’t know. Mom said, “if anything happens we can take her”. It’s such a sad ending but Zara now lives on 8 acres with my parents and goes to the lake 5 days of the week.
