FAQs

Question

Can I book at a nearby resort and still come to the wedding day events?

Answer

Possibly, however all resorts in the area & Caribbean limit the number of day/wedding passes that they will give out. It would not be guaranteed that you'll be able to attend the wedding if you do not stay on-site at our host property, Moon Palace the Grand Punta Cana. We highly recommend booking in the room block to make sure you can celebrate with us.

Question

I've never traveled outside the country before. What documents do I need?

Answer

If you've never gone outside the USA before, you'll need to apply for a passport as soon as possible. If you have traveled but maybe it's been awhile, please confirm that your passport will still be valid for at least 6 months after the final date of travel. That would land sometime between 06/14 - 06/30/2027. You do not need a visa to travel to the Dominican Republic, however there will be an online travel verification that will need to be completed before boarding your flight to Punta Cana. The airlines typically have this form linked to your flight confirmation and you'll fill it out there. If you are struggling with this, please reach out. I'll post a link to the site when we get closer to travel.

Question

I'm not flying out of Saint Louis or Denver. How did you decide on those gateways for the group airfare?

Answer

Saint Louis, Denver, & maybe Chicago all have the highest numbers of potential guests coming to the wedding and direct non-stop flights to Punta Cana International Airport by at least one airline. For our friends and family in California or elsewhere, please feel free to have your layover in one of these cities and join the group flight at that time. If you need help finding and booking airfare, please reach out.

Question

What all does the nightly rate include?

Answer

As an all-inclusive resort, the nightly rate covers all food & beverage that is not considered specialty, room service, all restaurants, all bars, non-motorized water sports, court sports, gratuities, etc. Stays of 4+ nights also include all round-trip transfers from/to PUJ and the resort. Specialty items would include: wine by the bottle, tee times/cart fees at the golf course, spa treatments, services, and products, as well as the casino, bowling, motorized water sports, and offsite excursions. There could be other exceptions but this is also standard across all resorts in the area & Caribbean.

Question

Is the resort kid-friendly?

Answer

Absolutely! In fact, kids and teens 17 or under at the time of travel stay free with a booking adult in the same room. Their passport will be used to verify age at check-in. There is also a 2 story kid's club with a variety of activities from arcades to an aerial course, ball pits & face painting among other age appropriate activities. There is also a restaurant dedicated to kids of all ages called Wonderwoods. Please note that children under age 8 must be supervised by an adult on the first floor and under 4 must be accompanied by an adult on the top floor. A baby puree menu is available for our newer parents. There is also an arcade/gamer area for any pre-teens and teenagers and karaoke bar for everyone to enjoy.

Question

There is a better rate online than in the group booking link. How can I get the better pricing?

Answer

If there is a better rate listed online than we have in our group rate, please call the Wedding Team Directly before you book outside of the group. They will create a manual reservation that honors the lower pricing & promotions and send a payment link that reflects that. Please make sure to tell them you are booking in the Owens/Currie Wedding Group. Moon Palace will always honor the lowest rate available at the time of purchase. Also, if you need to make any changes to your room reservation, such as adding an extra night, an additional person, or any payment-related queries, please get in touch with their customer service staff at this same number. Phone: (USA/CANADÁ): 1-877-725-4933 Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Time Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Central Time

Question

Will I have to leave the resort to have a good time?

Answer

Absolutely not! We chose this resort because of it's wide offerings and expansive property to explore. Whether you want to lounge by the pool, relax at the beach, play sports, take the kids to the 2 story kids club, or find an adults only experience, this resort truly has something for everyone in all ages both day and night. There are also a few adults-only pools & restaurants for those looking for more low-energy atmosphere. However, if you choose to take some offsite excursions, that will only enhance the vacation even more! We have a link to some great offsite options in the travel tab.

Question

Is there a water park or lazy river at the property?

Answer

Yes, both a waterpark and lazy river are at the resort. In fact, there are a variety of options for all ages at the waterpark including slides, Flowrider surf simulator, and a spot for the littles as well. Please note that minimum height for the slides is 4'7" and max weight for 2 riders on a shared inflatable is 286 lbs.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please have your room deposit in as soon as possible to officially RSVP. Final payment on the rooms will be due by the end of August 2026. If you are interested in a payment plan, please reach out and we can let you know the options.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have lived together for almost 9 years now and would prefer your presence in lieu of gifts. If you would like to get us a gift, we have a small registry here. Just click on the Registry tab at the top.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that you dress in a Tropical Chic/Resort Elegant/Smart style to the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We recommend closed toe shoes, shirts with sleeves, and light-weight pants (linen or something similar) for men. Women should wear a nicer summer/beach dress and sandals/block heels. This is the same as some of the nicer restaurants at the resort. The resort specifies & defines this as Smart Casual for some of their restaurants: "Gentlemen should wear long pants or tailored shorts, and shirts with sleeves. Please be aware that beach attire (swimsuits, coverups), logo t-shirts, sportswear, loungewear, tracksuits, caps, flip flops, water shoes, sports trainers (sneakers), and bare feet are not permitted."

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, they are welcome at all of our wedding events including the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Please specify in the RSVP questions if you need kid's meals or are curious about babysitting services.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the ceremony at least 10-15 minutes early so that everyone has time to mingle and take their seats. The walk from your room to the venue will take approximately 10-15 minutes as well and there will be some golf carts available for any guests that might have limited mobility. If you are in the wedding party, specific instructions will be given.
