FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Ceremony will begin at 5 pm; please arrive before 5 pm to get settled and take your seat.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors at the Big Garden. The reception will follow in the open-air Washington Park Boathouse: this is a pavilion with no heaters permitted, so we recommend a light jacket or sweater for the evening.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire / semi-formal is the dress code. Examples are dresses or pant suits for ladies, and suits or sport coats and slacks for men. No denim pants or shorts please.

Question

Should I bring a jacket or sweater?

Answer

September tends to be warm; however, we recommend a light sweater or jacket for evening in case things cool down after sunset.

Question

Where do I park my car?

Answer

There are 2 public parking lots (one west of the Boathouse and one on the east side of the Boathouse), and there is street parking along Franklin St.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Children included on the RSVP page are welcome to attend.

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

The ceremony is in a garden that can be accessed by wheelchair. The Boathouse has ramp access for wheelchairs.

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

You are welcome to take photos during the cocktail hour and reception. We kindly request no photos be taken during the ceremony.

Question

How do I find the ceremony location?/Where is the Big Garden?

Answer

The Big Garden is on the west side of Washington Park, along Downing Street. It is a short walking distance from the Boathouse, just to the west.
