We have made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding in Jamaica for November 14, 2020. There are too many uncertainties and we do not want to put our loved ones at risk. We still plan to get married and hope to celebrate with everyone in the future.

Yes. Since this is an international trip, you need a passport valid at least 6+ months after your travel dates. If you have a passport, be sure to check the expiration date! If you do not already have a passport, it is a good idea to apply early to be sure you receive it in time for your trip.
Really whatever your schedule can allow, but we recommend a couple days prior to the wedding so that you can relax and get acclimated to the resort. This will also allow you to meet and hang out with everyone before the festivities! Use Veteran's Day to your advantage for that extra day off!
Resort prices are for an all inclusive rate and are price per person. The resort is all-inclusive meaning all meals and drinks (including alcohol) are included. On-site entertainment, WiFi, fitness facilities/classes, and non-motorized water sports (snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boards, etc) are also included.
Airfare and airport transfers are not included in the resort-stay costs. The most common extras people spend money on include: - Spa treatments and beauty services - Gift shop purchases - Cabana rentals - Off resort tours/excursions - Certain premium alcohols and imported beer - Lobster/specialty private dinners
Absolutely! If you are an adult (18+) you are free to roam throughout both resorts. Ziva and Zilara are located right next to each other and is just a short walk.
Absolutely! All wedding venues are located on the Ziva (family) side. We understand some parents will want to use this as an excuse to leave their children at home for a couple's getaway, but also know some parents may decide to bring the kiddos along for a fun family vacation! We specifically chose a resort that has a family side, but also an adult side for those that want some quiet. There is a great complimentary KidZ Club available if you want to get away during your stay too (must meet age requirement)! Be sure to not tell your kids about Sweet Bitez - unlimited sweets, ice cream, and candy! ;-)
I am sure many of you are wondering, "What do I wear to a destination wedding?" The wedding attire is beach semi-formal, or somewhere between formal and casual. Think beach chic! Basically anything you would wear to a nice restaurant on a summer night should work. Men: This is not a traditional wedding. With that being said, a suit is not required and you can forego the tie. Please no jeans. Linen pants/slacks, or nicer shorts, and short sleeved button downs are totally acceptable! Women: A short or tea length cocktail dress or a more formal sundress. A maxi dress is always fun and flowy in a tropical place! A nice flat sandal would be comfortable. If you want to wear a heel, I would recommend wedges or block heels over stilettos since you may walk briefly on the grass/sand.
Jamaica is a beautiful country with some of the most hospitable people! Just as you would in any city in the U.S., always practice caution and be aware of your surroundings. Do not roam off resort alone and always be sure to use trusted drivers if going out to explore (concierge desk can help). The resort is very safe, locked, and has security throughout.
If you choose to, you can set up an international plan via your phone service; however, we will be using WhatsApp. WhatsApp is a free messaging app that allows you send messages and make calls - we highly recommend downloading it for communication between friends and family. Be sure to throw your phone on airplane mode when you arrive in Jamaica to avoid roaming fees. When you connect to the free WiFi, you can message us via WhatsApp: Lauren: +1 (339) 237-0781 Coulton: +1 (310) 922-9981
We have family and friends scattered throughout the country from the East Coast to the Midwest to the West Coast. Coulton's Mom even lives in St. Lucia! Point is, no matter where we decided to have a wedding, it was going to be a destination for some, if not most people... While we understand not everyone will be able to make the trip to Jamaica, we are looking forward to spending quality time vacationing and celebrating with loved ones over the course of several days rather than just one night. Pack your swimsuits and sunblock - we hope to see you there!
