Airport and hotel recommendations below! There are two major airports in the Bay Area. SFO is located just south of San Francisco. This is the bigger of the 2 airports and likely has the most flight options. OAK is located across the bay from SFO, within Oakland. Both airports are about a 1 - 2 hour drive to Sonoma depending on time of day and traffic. If you rent a car, please do not leave valuables visible (such as phones, purses, luggage) within your rental cars. This is safe and beautiful area, but car theft can be common amongst unsuspecting travelers. For convenience to the venue and weekend activities, we recommend staying in Sonoma, specifically near the Sonoma Plaza. There are many boutique hotels near the Sonoma Plaza to choose from. This plaza is the heart of downtown Sonoma, with many bars, restaurants, and shops. If you choose to stay in an Airbnb, VRBO, or hotel other than what is listed below, we recommend staying within a 10 mile radius of the Sonoma Plaza.
