Our Proposal Story

November 25, 2025

Coty had originally planned to propose on December 13, 2025. The timing felt right, the plan was set, and both he and Pierce had openly talked about the proposal happening around that time. They tend to talk about everything, so keeping a secret for that long was never going to be Coty’s strongest skill. Then the custom rings arrived early. Around the same time, the two already had a trip to Colorado planned for November. Coty quickly realized this might be his only chance to truly surprise Pierce. Quietly, he began asking friends and family for advice about where and how to propose, hoping to create a moment that would feel meaningful without completely giving himself away. That moment eventually came on top of Devils Head, a prominent peak in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Getting there required a hike up to the historic fire lookout tower, an activity that for two people who openly admit they do not do cardio was a bold and slightly questionable choice. Still, step by step, and with a few moments of dramatic breath-catching, they made it to the top. The view made the climb worth it. From the summit, Denver stretched out below them, Colorado Springs appeared faintly in the distance, and the horizon felt endless. On a clear enough day, it honestly seemed like you could probably see halfway back to Kansas. Standing there together, Coty handed Pierce a small ring box. Inside was a letter with a small acorn tucked beneath it. The acorn held a quiet bit of history between them. Early in their relationship, during one of their first dates walking around the Plaza, Coty had picked up a small acorn and given it to Pierce as a simple, slightly silly little gift. It did not mean much at the time beyond being a cute moment, but it became one of those small memories that stuck. Bringing the acorn back for the proposal felt like a full circle moment. Pierce opened the box and read the letter himself, taking in the words and the sentiment behind it. It was thoughtful and heartfelt, and for a brief moment Pierce thought that was the proposal. It wasn’t. Once Pierce finished reading and realized something still felt slightly unfinished, Coty pulled out the real ring box, dropped to one knee, and asked Pierce to marry him. Their story had already been full of meaningful timing long before the proposal. Coty and Pierce officially started dating on Friday the 13th in December of 2024, which somehow felt perfectly on brand for them. Instead of seeing it as unlucky, they decided to make it their tradition. Every time Friday the 13th rolls around, they celebrate it as a small anniversary of their own. What started as a funny coincidence quickly became one of their favorite traditions, and now it is just another part of the story that brought them here.

How We Met

September 23rd, 2024

Coty and Pierce met the way many modern stories begin: online. Pierce was the one who reached out first, opening with a simple message pointing out that Coty was also a Sagittarius. It was a small thing, but enough to start a conversation. At the time, Coty was out at a bar with friends but not really in the mood to socialize. Instead, he found himself replying to Pierce’s messages in his car. What started as casual chatting quickly grew into something more engaging. Messages turned into voice notes, and before long the two were sending them back and forth for hours, well into the night. The conversation flowed easily, full of curiosity, humor, and the kind of energy that makes time pass without noticing. By the next evening, they decided to meet in person. Both arrived with the polite energy of two people trying their best to be real gentlemen, though socially awkward at times and clearly a little nervous. Still, the chemistry was there immediately. They had planned to watch a movie together, but it quickly became clear that neither of them was paying much attention to the screen. Instead, they just kept talking. After that first meeting, spending time together quickly became routine. The hangouts became more frequent, the conversations deeper, and the connection between them grew naturally. Eventually, the two decided to make things official. In true fashion for them, even their birthdays ended up being nearly identical. Pierce celebrates his on December 18th, and Coty follows on December 20th. For two people who already share most things in life, it only makes sense that they would almost share a birthday too.
