As the stars and algorithms aligned, Brooke and Joshua met each other via an online dating platform. When Brooke first saw Joshua’s picture, she momentarily thought she had caught her friend’s husband cheating. Upon closer inspection, and with great relief, she realized it was not her friend’s husband, but rather she had found Joshua. It was the best mistake she has ever made. The couple exchanged messages, and Brooke was immediately taken by Joshua’s unique mixture of brash humor, kindness, and sweetness. Joshua was fully encapsulated by Brooke’s inescapable charm and the effortless love and sincerity she exuded. They began to spend every waking moment texting each other, along with countless hours talking on the phone before they ever met in person. Everything about Joshua made Brooke’s heart sing, and it took nearly no time at all for Joshua to realize that Brooke was unlike anyone he had ever known. She was everything he could’ve ever dreamt of, like finding all 120 stars in one person. Their first date was October 13th, 2021 at an immersive art experience called “Spookedelia.” Brooke had chosen this activity because she thought it would be offbeat and fun, but little did she know just how offbeat it would be. It was one of the weirdest and most awkward things either Joshua or Brooke had ever done. However, the craziness of it all allowed the couple’s compatibility to instantly shine through their nerves, and they laughed their way through it all. Brooke and Joshua both knew they had stumbled upon something special - like playing the Song of Storms and realizing you just solved a puzzle by accident. By October 23rd (not even two weeks later) on a particularly magical date to the Botanic Gardens, they knew they were in love. Joshua shortly thereafter wrote Brooke a love song about that day. The couple used lyrics from his song for her on their wedding invitations. “I take your breath, you steal my heart…” On June 23rd, 2023, Joshua proposed at Brooke's family property in the mountains, a place that is more special and important to her than most anywhere else in the world. He tricked her into thinking he had set up his camera to record the two of them playing a song around the campfire, but after pressing record, instead of picking up the guitar, he got down on one knee. Brooke was so excited and sure about spending her life with Joshua, she grabbed the ring from the box as soon as it opened and put it on her own finger. Joshua also planned a surprise engagement party for when they got back to Denver, where they continued celebrating their future together with friends and family. Since then, the happy couple have filled their days with constant laughter, finding new music together, nerding out over video games and movies, cooking and discovering new favorite foods, and going to see their favorite performers live. Of course, life comes with both ups and downs, but Joshua and Brooke have learned through the years how to approach conflicts as a team, and are always striving to be the best partners they can to one another. They are excitedly counting down to the day their friends and family gather to celebrate at their wedding. For Brooke and Joshua, being together has been nothing short of incredible. It isn’t often you find someone that complements and completes your soul in such a perfect way. They are best friends, two people madly in love, and soon to be husband and wife.
