How We Met

11.11

After they each googled "best dating app for my age group", they met on OK Cupid! Brad messaged Amanda and his candid, casual approach - along with a shared love of OSU sports and alpacas - set him apart from anyone she'd met yet. He offered his personal phone number and she wrote his number down while telling herself if she was still thinking about him after the weekend, she'd text him. She texted him the very next day which happened to be 11/11/2018. Their first in person meeting was one week later at The Patriarch in Edmond and they haven't stopped talking since.

The Proposal

Brad proposed after tacos! Tuesday, March 10th, in his backyard. It was simple and perfect. Little did they know this was literally days before the entire country went into lockdown and they, together with his son Cameron, would be quarantined together due to the coronavirus.

Thank You

We believe there is a divine timing to when we met. Our individual histories have prepared us for this union by providing us with life changing experiences that solidified our commitment to savoring life. We believe we would not be here, together, if it had not been for the fervent prayers and support from both of our families, previously apart, and now together. We are so excited to begin this new chapter together with all of you.

The Wedding

#newlywebbed

On Saturday, July 4th, the couple were married in a private ceremony in Brad’s backyard. Brad’s son Cameron officiated and both Amanda’s dad and Brad’s dad prayed over the couple. The song His Eye Is On the Sparrow was played as Amanda was escorted down the aisle, this song that has been meaningful to Amanda and her family since she was very young. The couple chose 1 John 4:18-19 as their wedding scripture and they each read aloud their personally written vows (Brad’s made everyone laugh and cry). The dogs seemed confused by the ceremony and Molly appointed herself as Maid of Honor. After the ceremony, guests cooled off by the pool and ate delicious homemade cookies provided by Cara Sharpe of Ft. Gibson, a Cothern family friend who has baked the same cookie recipe for Amanda for every major life milestone since she was a young girl. The day was capped off with a sparkler send off and the couple left for the mountains for a mini-moon the next day. Thanks to our families, it was an unforgettable day in the midst of a year in which was truly matters is in clear focus. Enjoy the photos taken by Amanda’s brother Clint, owner of Critical Focus Studios.
