We both swiped right. Andrew's profile said he liked hockey so I said, "Do you have a jersey, because I need your number?" After chatting for a few days, a lunch date at Applebees, a trip to Yates cider mill, and a trip to Round One arcade followed by fries and shakes at Steak 'n Shake we were inseparable. I fell in love with his kindness, patience, handsome looks, and his determination. Andrew fell in love with my family values, hard work ethic and willingness to pursue and try new things. We started to golf, ski and cook together. Since we met life has become fresh and every day is something new and exciting to look forward to! I have found my best friend.
July 19, 2021, Andrew and I went out to dinner with his family for his sister Emily's 21st birthday. On the way home from Ann Arbor, Andrew said we had to stop at our house because a tree had fallen. As we arrived at the house the sun was setting over the hill. A family of deer was grazing in the yard with thousands of fireflies lighting up the evening sky. My attention was clearly on the deer and trying to catch fireflies; not Andrew's nervous chatter. As we walked down the hill holding hands enjoying the nature surrounding us, the tree beside me lit up with twinkle lights. At first I was confused. Then surprised. Then elated! I realized that carved into the tree were our initials and "Marry Me?" I turned around and found Andrew on one knee asking me to marry him. I said "YES" and jumped into his arms!
