Reminders & FAQs

The Wedding Website of Costen King-Cortes and Forrest King-Cortes
Question

Pre-Travel Reminders

Answer

Check the weather as the trip approaches and be sure to pack layers. The temperatures can reach up to 75 during the day and drop as low as 45 at night. We will utilize outdoor space as much as the weather permits, including for the welcome dinner and ceremony. There is a pool at the chateau that *may* be open when we're there. Bring swimwear just in case! You'll need an outlet adapter to charge your devices in France. Check the voltage of items like electric shavers, blow dryers and curling irons before purchasing to ensure compatibility. Here's an option with USB and regular outlet inputs: https://a.co/d/i2J6qJ6 (copy and paste to use link). Don't forget to book a car or buddy up with a driver to get to and from the venue, and for adventuring during down time. It is highly recommended that drivers to carry an international driver's permit while visiting France from the U.S. More info here: https://franceintheus.org/spip.php?article376 (copy and paste to use link). Staying at the chateau? If you're a light sleeper or are off to bed early, consider packing earplugs. It's a big party in a historic building after all...

Question

Are there hotel room blocks reserved?

Answer

Immediate family and friends will be staying at the chateau venue (Chateau du Parc). Outside of this accommodation, we have suggested some lodging options in the area. There are no blocks reserved, so please book the lodging that is best for you!

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

The venue is located 1 hr. from Bordeaux, the nearest regional airport. We will not provide transportation, so please coordinate with friends or others in your party and reserve a rental car for travel to/from the airport, and to get out and explore the region during down time in the agenda. We aren't sure what Uber availability will look like, so don't plan on it!

Question

Which meals will be provided?

Answer

Please see the "Schedule" tab for information about meals and events that we are hosting. We will have light breakfast bites Friday-Sunday for guests staying at the chateau. All other meals and time are yours to plan and enjoy!

Question

Can I bring a plus one or my kids?

Answer

Unfortunately, limited space means limited plus ones - please refer to your invite. We love your kids, but the venue and schedule aren't suitable for children under the age of 18. Please plan accordingly.

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Your presence is our present so please do not feel the need to give a gift! We are grateful just to have so many friends and family join us for this special celebration. That said, we have a honeymoon fund on the "Registry" tab in case you feel inclined.
