The first night we met was in the last place either of us thought we would meet someone of interest let alone someone we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with - Stephens Green (aka Greens). I had previously gone on a date that cost me half of a $16 bill on ladies night and asked my friends to meet me at Greens to shake off the terrible date. This was my local bar that I went to regularly - swearing I would "die there alone." Mike went to meet some friends at Greens to watch a football game and when walking into the bar for the first time, he noticed that he was surrounded by dudes with no girls in sight - at first. My friends - Cat and Cori - showed up at the bar a few drinks deep and asked me if there were any guys in the bar that I liked. I pointed out Mike and within seconds my friends were calling him over demanding to put my number in his phone. Mike says he had wanted to talk to me but my friends beat him to the punch. Mike continuously tried to initiate a conversation with me but between my RBF and shyness, I did not say much. This did not stop Mike from pursuing me with a text later asking if I would go on a date with him. Needless to say, I said yes with the encouragement of my friend Cori to get a free meal which turned into the best first date I had, and little did I know the one I would want to spend forever with.
