Medellín is a very safe city for tourists. But as any other city in world, there are areas we recommend our guests to not venture out on your own; especially at night time. Colombians say to not give “Papaya”. Meaning don’t bring attention to yourself with your clothing options, jewelry or walking around with your phone out. For women, we recommend you choose wearing silver instead of yellow gold around the city.
Most travelers do not need a visa for Colombia, but please check your country’s requirements when booking. Additionally, there is an immigration form that is required before boarding called Checkmig - please double check if it's necessary at time of travel.
The main airport is José María Córdova International Airport (MDE). Do not select Olaya Herrera airport.
For the most simple option, we would recommend Uber. Private transportation is a very popular option as well as a large van for groups. Transportation from MDE to York Luxury Suites is available - please let Claudia know in advanced when you are booking your stay.

We will be staying at York Luxury Suites Medellín, if this does not seem like a place you would like to stay, Medellín has additional hotels in the area of El Poblado. In addition to hotels, Medellín has had an incredibly large growth in AirBNB's. Please try to stick to the best reviewed ones, with a superhost tag and please try to stay close to York Luxury Suites/El Poblado or Barrio Laureles.

Yes, transportation will be provided for guests staying at York Luxury Suites to the wedding venue. If you decide to stay at a different location, you may use uber to get to the venue and back. To those staying at York, please be ready and in the hotel lobby by 2:30pm on the day of the wedding.

In Medellín, September typically sees mild, spring-like temperatures with daily highs averaging around 77°F (25°C), and the weather is mostly cloudy. While the days can warm up, the nights tend to be cooler. Famous for its year-round mild climate, Medellín is often referred to as the "City of Eternal Spring." You are welcome to bring whoever you would like to Colombia, but only those who were sent a formal invitation may come to the wedding and wedding events. If you've received a plus one, they'll be specifically addressed within the invitation.
As much as we love your little ones, our wedding is exclusively for adults. If you bring children to the country, our wedding planners have a highly recommended childcare provider for the night of the wedding.
The currency is COP or Colombian Pesos. We recommend having some Pesos in your wallet, as some transportation options will only accept cash, but shopping is relatively simple otherwise. Most of Medellín accepts Visa, and while not as frequent as Visa, Amex cards are accepted.
