How we met

09/06/2017

Cory used to date my best friend. They split up during his deployment. That’s where I come into the picture. Cory messaged me during that deployment and every deployment after that. We were pen pals basically. Every dark time Cory had in his life, he would reach out to me. One day, he reached a hard place in his life and career. Once again, he messaged me and that time we became more than pen pals. So, Cory lived in North Carolina, and I lived in TN. He invited me to spend Thanksgiving with him in North Carolina. I went to North Carolina and fell in love with him. For the next 2 years, we would take turns visiting each other. Then, he made the grand gesture and asked me to marry him. Shortly after, I moved to North Carolina and we will soon become husband and wife.

The proposal

05/04/2019

Cory’s plan was to take me to a vineyard in Nashville and have a picnic at sunset. He even had a speech prepared ,but that is not how it went down. He proposed to me on the day I graduated nursing school. He surprised me by showing up to my graduation! After graduation, we went to Nashville. It was pouring rain. He finally convinced me to go downtown with him to eat. We ate at margaritaville. Then, we were going back to the hotel and Cory stopped at the commerce park. That’s when he proposed to me in the pouring rain. He totally forgot the speech he had planned too. I ugly cried. Long story short....well, you guessed it. We are getting married!
