Peter and Cory met back in Autumn of 2013 under the fluorescent lights in Target. After months of bonding during work shifts, Cory finally convinced Peter to hang out. The next morning, early (and hungover) they decided to go on their first of many hikes up Mount Nittany. On their first date, Peter picked up Cory for dinner at Otto's Pub and Brewery in State College, Pa. Afterwards, they journeyed up to Jo Hays Vista, the clearest sky in the area, to go stargazing, where they enjoyed watching shooting stars. Fast forward to December 2017. Peter and Cory made the first big step and bought a house together. A few months later they made the next big step of adopting a dog, and thus came the best girl Rosie. After five years of dating, Cory and Peter decided to check another National Park off their list and flew out to California en route to Yosemite National Park. They got in late, so they set up the tent so they could wake up early for their first trail in the morning. They got up and started on the John Muir Trail up the Vernal and Nevada Waterfalls. They stopped along the trail and asked a fellow hiker (Carl) to take their picture. Carl noticed a rainbow and asked if they wanted it in the background. Cory posed for the picture but Peter got down on on knee and the rest is history.
