What makes someone so sure of a Tinder connection? A match on Hinge to follow. We first matched on 11/5/23. From the beginning of our conversation, it was evident that this was the start of a dream both of us had prayed for. It didn't take long until we were itching to see each other in person - this however was delayed due to Makayla "ghosting" Cory for a short period of time. Cory was more than persistent though, and as cheesy as it is he knew deep down God had plans that involved him and Makayla. A corner table at a coffee shop became a spot, our spot, that we would treasure forever as we sank into easy and meaningful conversation. Both of us were simply head over heels, which led to dinner later that night! We talked until the early hours of the morning about anything we could think of. We'd never felt so safe and secure. The very next day we hungout again, this time at a dog park. It's safe to say there was no wasting any time - from the very instant we met we have been inseparable. We drifted effortlessly from strangers to best friends, from best friends to boyfriend and girlfriend, to fiancés, to now soon-to-be, husband and wife. About one-week after Makayla ghosted Cory, she enthusiastically said yes to tagging along for family Christmas 2023. It was an experience to never be forgotten - 2 dogs and 6 hours in a car later, there Makayla was, ready to meet the entire family. As intimidating as this may sound, it was the most natural and seamless introduction you could imagine. After one week of sleeping in Patrick and Rachel's basement, aka "The Haggerty Hotel", it was decided we couldn't be apart. Makayla moved in with Cory in his luxurious 400ft studio apartment (with both dogs). As you may have gathered, it didn't take long for us to conclude that we needed more space, which led to the discovery of our new home in Menomonee Falls. Shortly after move-in, Cory began the adventure of a lifetime, ring shopping. After months of designing a custom piece and learning more than he imagined possible, the ring was finally in his hands. There it sat in the bedroom safe for weeks, waiting for the planned moment. At the top of the tower on a windy Saturday afternoon in October at Holy Hill, Cory said 4 words and our lives changed forever. How can one word encapsulate all the emotions, feelings and thoughts? Neither of us are too sure, but "YES!" was the only word Makayla could seem to form. Fast forward to Saturday January 11th at 8:30pm - here we are knee deep in wedding planning, attempting to summarize the most beautiful story with a 4000 character limit. As much as we know that you're hanging at the edge of your seat…we’ll leave it at that for now. We can’t wait for you all to be a part of this monumental next chapter of our story in December.
