The year was 2007, the month was August. The beginning of his junior year and her sophomore year of high school. Both were in tech theater; they both had found the one, but neither one knew it. When asked on a date, Kirsten had responded with an invite to the high school football game, which Cory enthusiastically showed up to in full face paint. A night of laughs and googly eyes at one another and they were an item. Weeks into the courtship, outside yet another football game, Kirsten told Cory she loved him organically. A full two months of being together, Kirsten ended the relationship to pursue her lifelong goal of receiving a full-ride college scholarship for basketball, knowing Cory was the biggest distraction she had ever encountered. They remained friends, but the relationship was strained. Four years later, with multiple failed relationships and numerous life experiences under their belts, Kirsten convinced Cory to get out of South Florida and away from the job he loathed and the city that kept him stressed. She was fresh out of college and he had two years of adulting in the books. They moved into a sub-rental in Bloomington, IN for the summer while she trained to join the IMPD and he worked at a marina. Both claiming they were just friends, but both wanting more. Kirsten still was not ready to settle down and after three weeks of living there, packed up and left. Cory followed his dreams down to Nashville, TN where he helped create hundreds of country music video, commercials and TV shows. Kirsten and Cory relied on each other heavily for advice and friendship in the next three years, often talking on the phone for hours a few times a week. When Cory's Dad took a job in Indianapolis, IN, Kirsten met up with them at Lake Lemon for a party. Everything was platonic, until Cory grabbed a guitar and jumped on stage for all the eager friends and family who kept insisting for him to sing. After one song, Kirsten was weak in the knees and knew she was ready for something more. Cory exited the stage and Kirsten pushed him up against a white truck to kiss him. A year later, 2016, she moved in with him, and nine months after that they bought their first house in Chattanooga, TN. Cory proposed to Kirsten on an island in Harrison Bay on May 8th, 2018, where she enthusiastically said "YES!" This wedding has been put off for too long; four years to be exact. Within that time they have settled in a city where their life can take root and has grown beautifully. They have cultivated a home they proudly share as a common ground where friends can gather and memories are made. Cory and Kirsten look forward to sharing their love and memories with you all.
