We are so excited to celebrate our special weekend with you in what should be a fun set of events! As we are aware, this is a first-time experience for many family members and friends, so we wanted to provide some guidance on how to approach dressing up for each occasion. All guests are welcome to wear traditional Indian clothing even if it is your first experience with Indian wardrobe. You can also wear formal Western clothing if you desire to dress in one type of clothing or mix it up for each event!
At both the wedding ceremony and the reception, there will be a mix of cuisines to accommodate all palates and dietary restrictions. Hors d'oeuvres will be passed around for guests to enjoy ahead of the buffet selection for both events. The buffet options will have a variety of vegetarian and meat options for Indian dishes, live stations for kebabs, a live pasta bar, and a Chinese food station.
The best option for parking is to go to PMI parking at 1725 Desales Street, which is 100 feet behind the hotel. The rate is around $25-$35 per night. If that garage is full, don’t worry! You can also go to another PMI garage on M St; 1615 M St NW.
The haldi ceremony is a turmeric blessing for the Bride and Groom and as such, we have decided to go with a garden theme. Please feel free to wear festive, semi formal attire. We would love to see you in pastel clothing but feel free to wear anything that you're comfortable in!
This is the henna ceremony and will be intimate but festive! Please wear clothing where you're comfortable getting henna as well as we'd love for everyone to participate if they want! Think jewel tones and indian festive!
Formal/Cocktail attire would be best! For men, it would be a suit with tie or Indian Formal clothing and for women, Indian Formal or Cocktail dresses would be appropriate!
Black-Tie! Tuxedos/Indian formal for men but a dark suit is alright as well and Indian formal/formal gowns for women!
We understand that there are quite a few events so please feel free to attend as many events as you can! You don't have to be able to come to all to be able to come to one - we look forward to sharing our celebration with you!
We have a block at the hotel that the reception on Saturday is being held at. Please feel free to book using our link here. https://book.passkey.com/go/SrivastavaBarwatt Additionally, feel free to book hotels closeby in either Washington DC or Arlington VA but let us know where you end up booking!
