The parkway is a stunning and magical drive, winding along rocky mountainsides, through stone tunnels carved beneath trees, and into the clouds. The BRP is what connects our home in Virginia and many memories in Shenandoah National Park, to our newly planted roots here in Western North Carolina.

Moderate 1.4 mile hike through a spruce-fir woodland, up to a mountain bald with a biodiverse landscape and 360 views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We suggest wearing comfortable shoes, drinking lots of water, and bringing a snack for the top!
If you like hops, farm-to-table dining and pizza, this regal brewery is a must-see, just outside of Asheville. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and Gabbi prefers to sit in the garden of fresh vegetables and native wildflowers, where many butterflies and bees will linger and buzz this time of year.
