WE'RE GETTING MARRIED! LIKE REAL SOON . . .

On Thursday, April 26th, 2018 (just over 1 year ago) both of us had just finished creating our MATCH.com profiles. That same day, Cory sent the first message and started the conversation. The messaging continued through the weekend, and by Sunday, we had exchanged phone numbers and scheduled our First Date (for that Wednesday.) We couldn’t wait to meet each other and we’re surprised at how easily the conversation came. By Monday, we both deactivated our MATCH.com accounts! We were so sure we wouldn’t need to meet anyone else. By Tuesday, before even having our first date, we scheduled our Second Date – convinced this was something special. Wednesday felt like torture having to wait all day for 7 PM. We exchanged messages all afternoon about how excited and nervous we both were. Then it was finally here, time to finally meet and have our FIRST DATE! Cory arrived to pick me up shortly after 7, and as soon as I got in his Jeep, both of our nerves went away and it felt as if we had known each other forever. The conversation was effortless and the smiles were non-stop! We went to Firebird’s Restaurant (in West Des Moines) and talked for hours…until we noticed the restaurant had closed at 10:00 and it was nearly 10:30 – we were the last ones there (besides two or three poor employees who were waiting on us.) As we made our way back across town and getting closer to the end of the date, we talked about how excited we were for the weekend (and our Second Date!) Our perfect (despite the rain) first date ended with the perfect first kiss. As soon as I got upstairs to my apartment, I already missed being around him – he must have missed me too because he tried calling and then messaged me as soon as he got home! We messaged for a couple more hours – on a high and in disbelief of what we had found!
