We’re getting married!

Cory and Ashlyn met in a bit of a non traditional way. The year before Ashlyn went to college she started to become really close with her cousin Justin who introduced her to his whole friend group. She quickly became friends with them and started to hang out with them very frequently. One day when she came home from college, which little did she know was the start of Covid hitting in March of 2020, one of those friends (who is a groomsman, Jake) asked her to hang out at Beef O Brady's. At the time she was 18 and all the friends she hung out with being around 23 at the time, naturally she was the sober cab that day. Jake said his friend Cory was going to come up to the local Beef’s in St Francis since he hadn't seen him in a while. She saw Cory walk in and just had that feeling they would end up talking to each other in some capacity. As time went on that day, they started talking to each other and kept hanging out. He had some drinks so she definitely got to see Cory’s “fun” side that day. So, I guess we could say she kind of knew what she was getting into right off the bat. Since Covid was hitting Ashlyn got sent home from college and ended up living with her cousin for a bit where she continued hanging out with that group constantly which grew her and Cory closer together. From there they just kept talking, texting, and calling which ended up with them liking each other. From there in June, he asked her to be his girlfriend after they went to Patriot Lanes for date night, where she had to basically force it out of him to ask her to be his girlfriend. They moved kind of quickly where in September Ashlyn moved in with him when he bought his first home in Zimmerman of 2021. In 2022 they ended up moving to Florida to see how they would like it with their dog they adopted, Arlo. They lasted around six months there but ended up coming home that July. In September the couple bought a home together in Lonsdale where Ashlyn started working a second job bartending which led them to meet a lot of locals and make some new friends. Cory was able to make friends at his new job in New Prague pretty quickly as well. They ended up adopting another rescue puppy, Zeke in 2023. Since then, they’ve been working, travelling, and being busy with family and friends all while continuing on with their story together. In June of 2024, Ashlyn and Cory went on vacation in Washington where Cory finally asked Ashlyn to marry him. The two were on their last day of the trip in Seattle in their ocean side hotel room out on the balcony when Cory got down on one knee. And yes, Ashlyn had been poking at Cory for a while wanting that ring, so she was pretty happy he finally asked when they were on their trip. Now the couple can’t wait to celebrate their next chapter in life with you on June 20th, 2025.
