Tanner sent me a friend request on Facebook, which I promptly accepted because he was cute (even though he was a stranger). I never expected anything to come of it. I just wanted to stalk his photos and I later found out he stalked mine so it's not weird. Anyway, a few days later Tanner sends me a Facebook message that simply said "Hey". I was playing in a community league softball game so I didn't reply right away (and honestly wasn't sure if I was going to for two reasons 1) he was a complete stranger and 2) he couldn't come up with anything better than "hey"...). I texted Emily (my then roommate and now my bridesmaid) who is from the same town as Tanner and she told me he was a good guy who came from a good family and that I should "go for it". So I messaged him back and now it's two years later, we are engaged, and have the most beautiful son. And I thank God everyday for Facebook!
So we all know Tanner and I did things a bit nontraditonally, so our proposal actually took place at our gender reveal for Cason. Tanner had been gone at Basic Training for the last 3 months, but was home for Christmas. While he was home we also decided to find out the gender of our baby. We had a party at my dad's house and blew up a box of tannerite and chalk powder to find out I was carrying our sweet baby boy! It was already such an amazing day, but to top it all after Tanner shot the box of blue powder he walked up to me gave me a kiss and as I turned my back to ask Sam (also my bridesmaid) why she was still recording I turned back around to find Tanner on one knee. I about had a heart attack as I fell (literally) into Sam and Emily, then into potted plant and finally into the house in complete shock. And he finally asked me to marry him. It was the best day!
