The first time they met was after the 2021 summer of LT and Greenhouse, their college community. Cortney spent the summer in New York while Aiden got to know the Greenhouse people back in Michigan. They'd talk every once in a while at church, but things really picked up summer 2022 when Aiden visited LT for a week and asked for Cortney's number. Her only thought was "he is a child". Fall kickoff for Greenhouse started and they led a college bible study together. Also, a grow group reading The Fuel and the Flame. Also, doing announcements for Greenhouse meetings. Also, children's ministry on Sundays. Needless to say, They were significantly more on each other's minds because they saw each other more than they didn't. Cortney waited patiently for Aiden to decide what to do, but she also sought guidance from many of their friends. Come spring break of 2023 in Florida, many people talked to both parties and the two were side by side whenever possible. On March 18th, 2023, Aiden finally decided to ask Cortney out, and, after all of that build up, she said "surrrrre, but not until after the NCLEX". Then he responded with "you're worth waiting for". So, they met up at New Hope church to carpool to Crunchy's where they shared fries, chips, and whole life stories. They continued the stories throughout the day as they walked to the Curious Book Store for some cool stairs. Then, they walked around a park, still talking, before heading to Greenhouse. The date wasn't over though. They also went to Mcdonald's after Greenhouse before Aiden drove Cortney to her car. But wait, They still weren't done. They kept talking in the car until 2 am. They have had many adventures since then and still stay up way too late talking. After dating for 10 months, Aiden decided to invite Cortney over on Valentine's Day to make heart shaped sugar cookies. So, Cortney made the dough and brought it over to Aiden's house, but she forgot the cookie cutters. So, they improvised. Cortney was tired from cutting cookies and getting over a cold when Aiden held her and shared how happy he was. He said "I love all of the firsts we have done together like going to Mackinac Island and having our first candlelit date, and the first time buying you flowers (which Cortney had just done for him when he got back from Poland). I have never gone camping with you. I have never asked you to marry me." Then he pulled a ring out that he grabbed from a kitchen drawer and got on one knee. Cortney thought it would be hilarious to say sure again, but she was sure that it was a yes. Now they are looking forward to all sorts of new adventures with each other!
