The Proposal

We had been planning a Friendsgiving at our friend's house for a few weeks but apparently the main reason for doing so was for Aaron to propose, and I had NO idea!! He got down on one knee in front of our closest friends and it could not have been more special! I am so glad he shared that moment with the people who have become family to us. It was definitely a night we will never forget!

Our Story

Cortney and Aaron met way back in 2010. Cortney was a 14 year old freshman, while Aaron was a 17 year old Senior. They never had much more than "hey how are you" encounters back then. Only running into each other while Cortney was in P.E. and Aaron was ditching class and spending time in the gym with his basketball coach. Nothing more than a social media friendship and maybe a distant small crush ever came from their one year of high school together. Six whole years went by before Cortney and Aaron would see or even think of one another again. Cortney would finish high school and attend 2 and a half years of college in Conway, while Aaron went to College in Jonesboro and began his career. Their paths finally crossed again in the very final days of 2016. Both had recently come out of long serious relationships, so neither were looking for any sort of relationship. But as fate and having mutual friends would have it, both of them would be in Memphis the very last weekend of the year. They harmlessly flirted once Aaron introduced himself after Cortney had added him on snapchat. After NYE both were reluctant to act on their attracted instinct to each other, but they would keep in touch. Soon after, Aaron would be out in Little Rock for a friends birthday. Knowing Cortney lived just 20 minutes away, he told Cortney that she should come. Really after that weekend, the attraction and early feelings were undeniable. Aaron found himself needing to make more trips to central Arkansas to "visit friends", while Cortney was offsetting those trips with coming back home to "see family". This reluctant cycle finally ended when Aaron asked Cortney to spend Valentines day with him. They spent Valentines weekend together where their initial attraction began, in Memphis. They laid claim to each other with a social media post and that's how they kicked off their love story.
