Josh and I met over 6 years ago. As you know we met in High School, I was a Freshman and he was a Junior. In 2015, we both went to prom with our own friends. We both crossed paths there, but never talked. A couple days later, Josh had sent me a friend request. Then it became a goal to post stuff we knew each other would like to get one another's attention. Then after several days of that he finally messaged me and we hit it off. One message I will never forget from that night is when he asked “Do you have a cellular phone?” and I honestly continued with the conversation prior to him asking and didn’t even send my number for several minutes later. To this day it just cracks me up how he asked. Now several proms and homecomings, going through 8 months of long distant relationship with 3 ½ months of it being through letters. Then to us getting married at the Municipal Building. It wasn’t the ideal place to get married but when you love someone, the time and place doesn’t matter. Being in Virginia for 2 ½ years was definitely a learning experience. Josh worked every day, 5 days a week for about 12 hours a day. *Yawn* While he was at work, I worked at Longhorn Steakhouse as a host/to-go. It wasn’t the ideal place to work. But, it paid my bills and gave me money to save. Working at that restaurant opened me up so much. I am still a quiet/ shy person. But I got so much better talking and working with people, and it took me out of my bubble. I am so grateful for this opportunity that God gave us to live in Virginia. Although living there was a pain at times I am thankful for the people I got to meet work and military related. As the new year started we were getting ready to move back home, so much excitement and chaos coming home. With finding a place to live, finding jobs, finding a school to go to and planning this wedding! But I can’t be any more thankful for this life, with a supportive husband. Also with a loving family that has supported us every second of the way.
