Things To Do

California San Joaquin Valley

California San Joaquin Valley

The wedding festivities will be at Cort’s grandparents’ home called “Capecchio" where his Nonna and Nonno lived and farmed all of Cort's life and where his parents live now too. Capecchio is on the border of Stockton and Lodi, nestled in the San Joaquin Valley. The valley is the "fruit basket” of America where wine grapes, olives, cherries, walnuts, apples, nuts and more are grown. Cort's family has farmed the area for generations, now including his brother Trevor. Summer days are HOT, but summer nights are “delicious," as Eli’s Mama Cookie would say, thanks to a cooling breeze each evening from the surrounding San Joaquin River Delta. Nearby activities include wine tasting, agri-tourism, boating, horse riding, and poolside lounging. If you’re extending your trip, consider a longer drive to the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains (Tahoe, Yosemite, Pincecrest, Big Trees, Arnold) or the Pacific Ocean (Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Marin County, Point Reyes, Napa), all within a 2-hour drive.
