Corrine and David first met in August of 2016 at what the youths call a “pre-game”. It was David’s second night in Arizona and he was hosting a small gathering with fellow new PT students at his apartment before going out for a night on the town in Scottsdale. It was love at first sight and David strategically positioned himself next to Corrine during the adult beverage games to make sure Corrine would not over consume beverages (lie). When it was time to leave Corrine and David got in an Uber to the Scottsdale and slowly inched their hands closer in the car until they were holding hands and smiling like an old couple then danced the night away with classmates and went their separate ways. They stayed clear of each other for months after a scary warning from the professors to never get involved in romantic relationships with classmates. After forming a bond of hiking, board games, and studying they spent more and more time together and their friendship blossomed and got to know each other on a deeper personal level. With more long nights studying together, BBQ pool parties, and more board game nights with Dave and the girls, Corrine softened up and found out Dave was a goofy, sincere human who just put on the façade of cool guy in front of new people. On Valentines day David brought Corrine two bottles of wine with Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and a bouquet of flowers and both them now knew this was getting serious. David was head over heals and thought Corrine was the nicest, prettiest, down to earth girl he ever met, so it was all hands-on deck for trying to convince her to be his. He brought her out to Ethiopian food, cooked her dinner, and spent hours on end sharing stories on the couch while listening to music or watching the office. On April 9th 2017 David cooked Corrine some steak and tuna (her favorite) and took her on a walk by their school and stopped her in a corn field under the stars and asked her to be his girlfriend (finally).
Corrine and David spent the next year in school together going on dates, hanging out with friends, taking road trips up north, and enjoying every second of their newfound love. They had their first test of a real relationship when they rented a 300 sq ft Air BnB in Tempe to live in for 10 weeks. They learned each other’s quirks, weaknesses, and strengths and came out stronger and more together than ever despite having a mini fridge and a barn door in place of a real bathroom door. Corrine moved in and lived with David and his parents for 2 months in Connecticut where they traveled to NY and Boston to visit friends and family and show all that the East Coast has to offer (mostly good people and really good Italian food). David spent time in Rochester playing golf with Corrine’s family and enjoying the similar laid back Fritcher family just like his own. When they graduated school in June of 2019, they made the decision to stay together no matter what and ended up finding jobs around Phoenix AZ and moved in together. All the while David knew he would marry Corrine, he knew before he even asked her to be his girlfriend. David proposed to Corrine on April 9th, 2020. He planned a full day scavenger hunt that started with clues around the apartment and led her to a long hike to the top of a mountain. From there she was sent off to her best friends’ apartment where she was tasked with finishing a puzzle to find the final location. At the final location David was standing in an open field in front of their favorite mountain in AZ. Both trembling David got down on one knee and does not remember what he said but she took the ring and put it on herself because Dave was too overwhelmed to function. On April 16th, 2021 they will tie the knot in front of their best friends and family members and continue their journey of improving themselves and making their lives and those around them the happiest they can be.
