Christina was on a late-night bike ride with her dad. Ryan was on a late-night bike ride with his daughters. They happened to travel along the same road, and afterward they caught up over drinks. After months of long chats and periodic visits when Ryan was in town, Christina joined Ryan in Savannah while he was there for work. They quickly realized on that trip that their feelings for each other were undeniable.

Ryan had bought a “Hot Ones” pack with ten hot sauces, ranging from mild to miserably hot. In alignment with the show, he had prepared 10 interview-style questions to ask Christina while they sampled the sauces. They challenged each other in state capital knowledge, Christina taught Ryan how to play a basic game of poker, and they shared lots of laughs in between. The final question of the night, after biting into a dinosaur nugget with the hottest of sauces on it, was Ryan’s proposal. He conveyed his love for Christina through the use of an Avett Brothers song, and Christina said yes— but not before she asked if Ryan would marry her, too. And now they cannot wait for their lives together!
