We want to celebrate our wedding in style while honoring the relaxed nature of Cape Cod. For women, a tea-length dress, fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit work well. For men, we recommend a dress shirt, slacks, and tie with the option to wear a jacket. Please note the ceremony will be held on a grass lawn.
When you arrive at the Wequassett Resort, drive past the Lodging and Registration building on your right and continue straight to the white building with blue shutters. You can park anywhere near the water fountain.
Yes! Summer Sitters is a highly regarded childcare service on Cape Cod. Guests staying at a hotel or rental property can have Summer Sitters provide childcare on-site during the wedding ceremony and reception. For more information or to book your service, visit https://www.summersitters.com/. Please note infants and young toddlers are welcome at the ceremony and reception on Saturday so that parents can attend the event. All children are invited to the welcome party on Friday.
There are many great restaurants in the surrounding Harwich and Chatham area. Reservations are recommended. Here are a few suggestions: Twenty-Eight Atlantic at the Wequassett Resort Outer Bar at the Wequassett Resort Sacred Cod at the Chatham Bars Inn STARS at the Chatham Bars Inn Viera on Main Street in Chatham Impudent Oyster in Chatham
The welcome party is hosted at The Wild Goose in the town of Chatham. Located on Main Street, the restaurant does not have a dedicated parking lot. Free parking is available in public lots and in designated spaces along Main Street. We recommend the following parking lots. Chatham Town Parking Lot Six minute walk from The Wild Goose CHAT, 14D 17, Chatham, MA 02633, United States Veterans Field Parking Lot Ten minute walk from The Wild Goose Veterans Field Rd, Chatham, MA 02633, United States Chatham Community Center Ten minute walk from The Wild Goose 702 Main St, Chatham, MA 02633, United States Please keep in mind parking in Chatham is limited and August is a popular time of year to visit Main Street. If possible, consider carpooling to the event or using a ride sharing service such as Uber or Lyft.
August on the Cape is usually around 80 degrees. We will be outside for the welcome party, ceremony and tented reception. The ceremony and reception are near the ocean, so there will hopefully be a nice breeze. For the welcome party, we suggest bringing a shawl in the evening, in case the temperatures drop.
